Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 6, 2026
1. Who we are
The Interdisciplinary Research and Development Organization in Social Sciences, Inc. ("IRDOSS," "we," "us") operates this website. For privacy inquiries, contact inquiry@irdoss.org.
2. Scope
This policy describes how we handle personal information collected through the Site (including contact forms, newsletter signup, research submission, and similar features). It does not cover third party websites we link to.
3. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:
- Contact and inquiry data: name, email address, message content, and optionally a technical network address when available. These are stored in our database with access restricted by role-based rules (not publicly readable) and processed by IRDOSS staff.
- Newsletter: email address and subscription timestamp.
- Research submissions: paper title, author name, email, abstract, file name, uploaded manuscript file, submission status, and timestamps. Optional fields such as network address may be stored when supported by our database configuration.
- Technical data: standard server or application logs (for example IP address, browser type, date/time of request) used for security, debugging, and service improvement where permitted.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide requested information.
- Manage newsletter subscriptions and send updates you signed up for.
- Receive, review, and process research submissions and related communications.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and related rules apply, we rely on appropriate grounds such as your consent (e.g. newsletter, form submissions), contractual necessity, legitimate interests (e.g. site security, responding to you), and legal obligation.
6. Storage, processors, and transfers
Data is stored using reputable cloud services (for example database and file storage providers). Those providers may process data in data centers outside the Philippines. We implement appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law and provider capabilities. Submissions and messages are retained as needed for review, administration, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized when no longer required.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal data we hold, withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above. You may lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (Philippines) where applicable.
11. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site or communicated where appropriate.
